Monday: Ham and Potato Quiche, English muffins, pineapple
Tuesday: Chicken Tortilla Soup, salad
Wednesday: Leftovers
Thursday: Chicken Spaghetti Casserole (make half/freeze half), broccoli
Friday: Southwest Chicken Roll-ups, Spanish rice (recipe to come!)
Saturday: Date night!
Sunday: Left-overs or breakfast
Whole chickens were on sale this week, so my menu is largely based off of that. I'm hoping to use the meat from a chicken for the soup, casserole, and southwest roll-ups. I may not have quite enough, but I will supplement with boneless, skinless chicken breasts as needed.

I came in $0.68 cents above budget, and I still have to buy one more ingredient for a special (secret) Father's Day treat, but I was $4 under last week, so I'll be using that excess to cover this week's overage.

Do you use coupons or just buy based on sales?
ReplyDeleteI mostly base my meals around sales, and occasionally use coupons. Couponing can be pretty time-consuming, but there are websites that can help. moneysavingmom.com has a coupon database that will help you find specific coupons.
ReplyDeletePineapple here is usually $3.99! And milk is up to $4.79 at the regular grocery store. We live in the country and it's a 45 min drive to the store I really like. There aren't really any discount stores around here except for a Costco, but that's even farther from our house.

Oh my! Pineapple run $3.99 here. I've never seen potatoes that cheap. There was a great sale a while ago that was 5 pounds for $1, but 10 pounds for that price?! And grapes are always around $4 a pound too :( I think we need one of those produce stores around here!
